DOT, HHS Launch $1B Joint Travel Campaign for Families
The U.S. Departments of Transportation (DOT) and Health and Human Services (HHS) have unveiled a $1 billion initiative, "Make Travel Family Friendly Again," to revolutionize air travel for families. Led by Secretary Sean Duffy and HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the program allocates funds for airports to expand family-centric amenities, including children's play areas, exercise zones, dedicated family screening lanes at security, private nursing pods for breastfeeding mothers, and healthier dining options.
The effort prioritizes maternal health by promoting extended breastfeeding and aims to create more supportive, enjoyable travel environments. Airports can now apply for grants to implement these enhancements, fostering inclusivity and well-being for traveling families nationwide.
