DOT Announces $1.5 Billion in BUILD Grant Funding for Fiscal Year 2026 Infrastructure Projects
The U.S. Department of Transportation announced $1.5 billion in BUILD (Better Utilizing Investments to Leverage Development) grant funding for Fiscal Year 2026. This supports surface transportation infrastructure projects across the nation, including highway, rail, port, and truck parking initiatives.
The grants aim to improve safety, mobility, economic competitiveness, community connectivity, and overall travel experience. Eligible applicants include states, local and Tribal governments, transit agencies, and port authorities.
Applications are due by February 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET. Priorities include projects enhancing safety, efficiency, accessibility, and energy-related infrastructure.
